Yesterday, Team Calico had the pleasure of styling a lookbook shoot for Elizabeth Cole Jewelry. We had tons of fun working with the delightful and talented Stephanie Owen, designer and CEO of Elizabeth Cole, as well as Elizabeth Cole’s senoir design consultant, Deb Garzone (who effortlessly rocked 5-inch platform heels during our entire 8-hour shoot–while the rest of us scurried around in flats and flip-flops!)

Our shoot took place at Heir/Calico in downcity Providence! With Heir’s insanely-chic collection of furniture, antiques, and artifacts, we literally had the perfect set and props at our fingertips! The Elizabeth Cole line is made up of simple-yet-glamorous basics like braided chains a sleek bangles, along with statement-making Swarovski-encrusted craziness like 70′s-inspired jaguar heads and chunky, gem-laden, floral cuffs. Needless to say, we died seven times and went to accessories heaven!

We had a great time reuniting with photographer, Conor Doherty, (who also shot our swimwear lookbook last summer) and meeting Maggie model and fellow blogger, Jeri Evan–who I think was the perfect face for Elizabeth Cole!

PVD STYLE WEEK, PART 1

This Sunday, John and I hit up the opening day of Providence Style Week for the Selah D’or show. Unfortunately, we got there five minutes late and missed the entire show. Who’s ever heard of a runway show starting on the dot? Ah well, here’s some pics of our outfits, anyhow!

Wearing: my fave vintage dress from Fredrick’s of Hollywood, layered vintage charm bracelets, vintage earrings, octopus ring from Aldo, vintage 70′s metallic bronze sandals, and vintage 60′s clutch, Bobby from Boston

John wears: vintage floral jacket adn bow tie from Circa, H&M skinny jeans, and vintage oxfords.

The Breakdown

This past Sunday, Calico was invited to attend a trade show in Marborough, Mass. We were really excited to check out some new fall lines to bring into the store. Unfortunately, my car broke down, en route, about fifteen minutes from my house. Sad story: no BB Dakota and Free People for us! But we decided to seize the opportunity to take some outfit pics in the breakdown lane on 195.

Vintage studded booties–Cody scored these from me in one of our swaps! They were headed into store inventory, but had a little too much damage to make the final cut.

…and one of Cody’s necklaces. This is actually the first one she ever made, and she gave it to me for my birthday

Thankfully, my car is okay! Apparently, I put too much oil in it. The moral of the story? CHECK YER DIPSTICK.
