When we all arrived, Hope was baking and the whole house smelled of macaroons–what could be more inviting?

On the menu:

Hope whipped up a spinach salad with sliced pears, sunflower seeds, and cubed feta, served with a homemade vinaigrette–so deliciously simple!

Our friend, Amelia, made this amazing warm green bean and potato salad, dressed with walnut oil, almonds, and shaved semi-soft goat cheese.

Hope’s housemate, Nathaniel, fired up the grill for some citrusy grilled chicken–Mmm…

A little crusty, whole grain bread and butter helped to shovel up all the last tasty bits on the plate!

And for dessert, Hope’s Ambrosia macaroons, drizzled with dark chocolate–Perfection!

My boyfriend, Randall, had picked up some chocolate wine–surprisingly delicious–that went perfectly with the cookies. I ate these macaroons till I felt sick–not proud, but worth it!

A little impromptu construction of a priority mail envelope party hat for my roommate, Alison, occurred just before we left our house. (I just love to take over a craft project…)

This was one of the only nice days we had during the biblical rain that recently hit New England. Prompting cute outfits, homemade hats, a fantastic dinner party–and the documentation of it all.

(I’m still thinking about those cookies…)
