Hi Calico Fans!
My name is Bisi, and I’m the newest addition to the Calico intern team! I dig unconventional fashion, minimalism, the perfect soy latte, and 60’s rock with a splash of old school rap, on the side.

Like everyone else in the fashion-universe, I am currently obsessing over all the amazing spring /summer collections that just hit the runways, and I thought I’d share a few looks from my fave designers, here on the blog!
First off, Catherine Malandrino! Her spring offerings draw inspiration from nomadic tribes of Northern Africa, blending tribal prints, bright island colors, and sheer drape-y layers. I love the simplicity and vacation-y feel of this collection, which proves, once again, that harem pants can be part of everyday attire!
Texture, sequins, and under-stated metallics were prominent features on the Phillip Lim runway. With boxy silhouettes and a vivacious color palette inspired by Picasso, Lim’s simple separates easily transform from a casual daytime look to a sultry evening ensemble, with just a quick up-do or killer pair of heels. (I have a sick pair of black fetish heels I’m dying to couple up with the copper onesie, pictured above!)
Finally, my all-time fave, Alexander Wang – quintessential designer of all things black, bold, and sexy! With a subtle slash, crop, or strategically-placed cut-out, Wang transforms the simplest of little black dresses into an edgy work of art. Loving the leather shorts Wang sent down his spring runway. And the oversize shoulders and dramatic sleeves are the hotness!
Well, blog readers, I hope you enjoyed my picks from spring/summer 2010. Now, it’s time to get inspired and stop into Calico where you can recreate these runway looks at prices that are totally pocket-friendly!
See you soon!
Bisi
